Passenger suffers catastrophic injuries in car accident

Louisiana drivers are conditioned to be on the lookout for obstacles on the highways and bridges across the state. However, no matter how prepared a driver may be, coming up on a stopped vehicle in your lane of travel can cause some measure of panic. If a driver is unable to avoid an impending collision, the resulting car accident could result in catastrophic injuries.

Man claims he suffered catastrophic injuries when hit by car

In Dec. 2014, a man filed a personal injury claim in a Louisiana court against the driver a vehicle, its owner and an insurance company. He claims he suffered catastrophic injuries when an "unskilled" driver slammed into him. The nature and extent of his injuries was not reported.

Report says fatal accident deaths down in Louisiana

The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission (LHSC) recently issued a report regarding traffic fatalities across the state. The data indicates that the number of fatal accident deaths has dropped significantly. Of the deaths that did occur, not wearing a seat belt and driving under the influence were cited as contributing factors.

Alcohol suspected in fatal accident on Louisiana Hwy 3042

Around 5:30 p.m. on a recent Friday, troopers with the Louisiana State Police responded to a crash on LA 3042. When they arrived, they discovered one person dead and one moderately injured. The surviving driver is suspected of causing the fatal accident, and it is believed he was intoxicated at the time.
