The presence of pedestrians on Louisiana streets is a common occurrence. Unfortunately, pedestrians face a great risk of sustaining injuries should they be involved in an accident with a motor vehicle. One such car accident recently has left a pedestrian severely injured.

According to police, a 21-year-old man was attempting to walk across a Louisiana street when he was struck by a car about 3:30 a.m. When police arrived on the scene, the man was found lying on the road. The nature of his injuries was not disclosed, though they were reported to be life-threatening. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police did not immediately release his identity.

There was no further information released regarding this man’s condition. Additionally, there was no mention of the driver of the vehicle other than the fact that no arrest was made. News video indicates that the car that hit the man was a BMW. Police are still working to investigate this accident and determine what factors and events led up to this man being seriously injured.

A car accident involving a pedestrian can be among the most devastating. Due to the vulnerability of pedestrians, injuries may be even more catastrophic, as appears to have been the case in this incident. When Louisiana drivers or pedestrians are injured in a car accident caused by someone else’s negligence or recklessness, they may be entitled to seek compensation for their injuries and damage suffered. A personal injury suit may allow injured parties to recoup financial losses resulting from their injuries.
